Perspective Power

There's a fundamental goodness and grace about engaging life in the context of convergence cultures. Such cultures help us weave previously scattered, random, or divergent threads into an increasingly integrated framework. Participants gain new perspective on God's activity within their life experience, discovering unrecognized value in what previously may have seemed routine or even disruptive, while becoming better prepared to glean transformational insights from future experience.

The resulting long-term perspective can invest life with a greater sense of purpose, while simultaneously tempering the mixed-motive tendency to try to squeeze undue significance out of the experience du jour. In effect, it both ennobles our daily lives and checks our sometimes premature desire for lasting personal impact.

As our long-term perspective increases, so does our staying power. Developing an integrative framework for life’s barrage of experiences is empowering enough. But discovering tools and paradigms that enable us to proactively partner with God, in anticipation of finishing well, can anchor and energize us through whatever our flesh, the naysayers, and the enemy of our souls may throw our way.

The discovery-turned-conviction that our lives are indeed going somewhere in the providence of God, and that our choices and actions will affect the outcome, can provide that something extra we often need to run the race with excellence. It can help us settle, once-and-for-all, that fundamental "Why?!" question — enabling us to pay the price, stay the course, embrace the on-the-ground reality of living life for something larger than ourselves.

One critical result? Greater patience and resilience as God labors as a craftsman in our lives to bring us to a place of maximum effectiveness and fruitfulness — bearing fruit that lasts.
